Authority and precedence

CLAUDE.md is the canonical source of repository policy.
Read and follow CLAUDE.md before taking any repository action. Read AI_HANDOFF.md when user preferences or repository background are needed.
This file only provides Codex-specific integration guidance. It does not replace, weaken, summarize, or supersede CLAUDE.md.
If this file conflicts with, differs from, or omits a rule in CLAUDE.md, CLAUDE.md takes precedence.

Work from the local vault checkout when it is available; do not create a shadow vault.
Route note work through the workflows named in CLAUDE.md and their .claude/skills/<name>/SKILL.md definitions.
Preserve unrelated user changes. Inspect git status before editing and staging, and stage only explicit task-related paths.
For completed repository changes, follow the wiki maintenance, verification, commit, rebase, and push workflow defined in CLAUDE.md.
Keep the completion report concise and use the exact user-facing language and token-estimate format required by CLAUDE.md.
